Review: What if Hama escaped the Fire Nation prison, but returned to the Water Tribe where she ended up being Katara’s teacher!? Allowing Katara to become more skilled much earlier on in her youth!
What if Iroh did away with his brother on the day of Black Sun and accepted the title of Fire Lord!?
And what if….just what if, in order to assure peace between the Fire Nation and Water Tribe, Iroh purposes a union of marriage between Prince Zuko and Princess Katara, to which they BOTH ACCEPT!!?? XD Well, THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS STORY!!! XD And it really is written so well!
Now be warned, it is a slow-burn! (Yes…I was SUCKERED in to reading a slow-burn AGAIN!!! AND BY THE SAME “FRIEND!” ::sigh:: When will I learn? Lol)
But honestly, I was ok with this slow burn, because the dynamic that goes on between Zuko and Katara as they try to deal with the fact that they’re now married, and don’t really know one another, is just SO good!!!
You keep wondering “what are they going to do now?” Or, “how will they treat one another now, after this!?” And you just keep wondering: “When are they finally going to see eye to eye!?” That it just becomes a total page turner! It always leaves you wanting more. ^_^
And while I really do wish that the moment Zuko and Katara transition from frenemies to Husband and Wife was written a little better itself, the story is still good. ^_~
Sokka and Zuko become total bros, and hey, who doesn’t love that!? XD
We get some scenes of all of them at the Southern Water Tribe as well, and the bonding that takes place there is also cool. (no pun intended! XD)
Ok, but just really, Katara and Zuko being a young married couple who eventually learn to work as a team to overcome their battles, is just….ugh…there is just something SO WHOLESOME about it that I just LOVE!!!
Definitely worth a read. :)
