Ok….so…first things first….this story is NOT FINISHED.

And as you may know, I’m not really a fan of reading unfinished stories. So I usually just don’t.

How did I end up reading this one then you ask? Oh….you know….classic good bud sends you a message exclaiming: “Oh my gosh! Have you read this Zutara FanFic yet!? It’s SO GOOD!”

To which I’m like: “Why no! I have not! Please send me the link!”

And BAM. Suckered. Just….like….that…..

I TRUSTED her!!! 😭😭😭 😂

If my good friend thought it was good, then I’m over here like, heck yeah! Let’s read this thing! So I didn’t bother checking the reviews…. ::sigh:: will I ever learn? XD

But…man! What an INTERESTING story! This is an AU but still set back in “normal Avatar times.” Only, the Fire Nation never attacked the world, so the Air Nomads are still around. (Yay!)

All the different regions speak different languages. ^_^ (As they would!) So that’s pretty cool.

And the Water Tribes actually live along beaches near the Poles and not on ice glaciers. So that was really interesting as well.

The gist: Zuko is captured by the Water Tribe and brought back to Katara by her brother Sokka as a slave for her!

This story is told in Zuko’s POV, so his language is the only one we (as the reader) understand. As Zuko starts to slowly gain an understanding of Water Tribe language, we are at first subjected to only the words he understands. So if Katara told him: “You can sit here by me.” Zuko might only understand the words: “You…sit….me”<--So that is how the Water Tribe language is presented to the reader. It’s not that they talk like cave people, those are just the only words he understands. ^_~

And I feel that’s important to understand going into this story. ::smile::

The immense amount of knowledge (or imagination! Not sure which!) the author has to describe to us in D.E.T.A.I.L. how the Water Tribe hunt and gather and create items they need is just….WOW!!! I was thoroughly impressed with all of the information and “how to’s” we’re given.

This story is definitely not your average way of how Zuko and Katara would “normally” meet by any means! But it’s interesting for sure.

There were a couple of things that I felt were missing from the story that really should have been added. But unfortunately I can’t add what those things were here w/out spoiling it. XD So just know that I did feel like there were a couple of missing elements.

This work is an interesting read with some sweet moments for sure, but does end on a cliff hanger.

I would recommend this if you’re looking for something to read and have nothing else lined up. But if you have other good ones to read out there, then just maybe save this one for a rainy day.
